Wynonna Judd has chalked it up to her “bizarre” performance at the 2023 CMA Awards.
“I’m going to come clean with you all. I was very nervous,” country singer says. He admitted this in a video posted on TikTok. Thursday.
“When I went out and looked, [my duet partner] jelly roll. I wanted it to be very good for him. I could cry right now, but I’m not going to cry because I’m a fan of his, and when he asked me to sing, I said, ‘Absolutely!’ ” I answered. ”
Judd, 59, said she was “so nervous” and “endured it for the rest of my life” when she took to the stage Wednesday night.
“And that’s the bottom line,” she concludes, adding that she plans to return to Texas to continue her Back to Wy tour.
The “Why Not Me” singer, who lost her mother Naomi Judd to suicide last year, appeared unsteady at the CMAs while performing Jelly Roll’s song “Need a Favor,” He hugged the up-and-coming singer throughout the collaboration.
“She’s been through so much. Someone please help her,” one viewer tweeted.
“It was really weird,” said another. “What’s going on? Once she grabbed him in her death grip, she barely moved.”
Some fans have speculated that Wynonna’s battle with vertigo, which caused her to quit “New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville Big Bash” last year, may be a factor.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, Wynonna shared a video of herself all decked out for the big event, looking in great spirits as she walked the red carpet and posed for photos.
“I have my ups and downs. That’s life,” she said. Shared with “Entertainment Tonight”.

After Naomi’s death, Wynonna said in an interview that she was “angry” about her mother’s decision to take her own life.After all, she is Wynonna I was healed again while touring..
“I knew it was going to be intense, but this is literally, ‘Oh my Lord,'” she told The Hollywood Reporter in January.
“This is me opening up my broken heart more openly than I’ve probably ever been before, and others are responding to it in ways I never expected.”
