World of Hyatt announces Adjusting hotel categories for 2024This will determine which hotels belong to which category. These changes will affect the number of points required to redeem free night awards. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news if you’re looking for perks at your dream hotel.
183 Hyatt hotels will change category on March 26, 2024
Hyatt is now a unicorn and one of the only award-winning hotel chains. Hyatt moved to a peak-off-peak structure a few years ago, where the chain charges more points or less depending on different patterns, such as occupancy. However, there is still a category assignment, whatever the value. This prevents the hotel from becoming very full overnight, where one day he is available for 20,000 points, and the next day he has 50,000 points.
World of Hyatt’s 2024 hotel category changes will reflect reservations made after 8 a.m. CDT on March 26, 2024. This corresponds to 7:30 PM Indian Standard Time on March 26, 2024.
On that day, 183 hotels will switch categories, with 137 hotels moving to the higher category and 46 hotels moving to the lower category.can be found Click here for a complete list of hotel category changes.
There are a few things to note here.
- All reservations made before March 26, 2024 will be subject to the current benefit schedule, even if staying on a later date.
- Members who book a stay at a hotel in a lower category will automatically receive a one-time refund of the difference in points.
- If your reservation is adjusted after the change takes effect, it will be subject to the new price list.
Many coveted Hyatt properties move to Category 8
While more properties are falling than rising, many properties are ambitious Redemption prices are rising, which is bad news. Back in the day, when Hyatt launched Category 8, it said these would only be reserved for select Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties and that Category 7 would be the cap for Hyatt properties. Now they have retracted that statement.
As of March 26, 2022, five additional Hyatt properties will move to Category 8.
- Alila Villas Uluwatu
- Hotel du Palais Biarritz
- Hyatt Centric Park City
- The Everline Resort and Spa
- Vail Residences at Cascade Village
These changes reflect current market conditions. Luxury hotels are currently experiencing the highest growth in business. This is likely because higher-end people travel more often or are opening their checkbooks more frequently. Therefore, in such cases, you will have to pay more for the hotel room even at World of Hyatt. And we want to adjust our prices accordingly.
9 hotels in India have been upgraded!
With this change, nine hotels across India will also undergo changes. All of these reflect the current high cost environment of hotel prices, driving the category up. Changes in India include:
- Category 1 to Category 2:
- Hyatt Centric Candolim Goa
- Hyatt Centric Juhu Mumbai
- Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar
- Category 2 to Category 3:
- Category 3 to Category 4:
- Category 4 to Category 5
- Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort
- Alila Fort Bishangarh
Other interesting hotel category changes include:
- Andaz Singapore moves from category 5 to category 6
- Park Hyatt Oakland moves from Category 5 to Category 6
- Park Hyatt Istanbul moves from category 5 to 6
- Park Hyatt Washington moves from Category 5 to Category 6
- Park Hyatt Zanzibar moves from category 5 to category 6
- Andaz Bali moves from category 4 to category 5
Ultimately, if you want to book a Hyatt property but don’t have enough points, you can top up or use Hyatt points to get 20% off your purchase and secure your stay now for the rest of the year. It’s a good idea to keep it.
conclusion
Annual adjustments to hotel categories are nothing new, but Hyatt is crushing it this year for those looking for aspirational perks. Hyatt’s top-rated properties are moving up the rankings in terms of category. However, this is better than the dynamic pricing approach because it takes him a month to plan and execute the redemption.
