Dr. Devon GraysonAn assistant professor in the School of Population and Public Health at UBC’s Faculty of Medicine, he has been appointed Chair of Applied Public Health by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
Dr. Grayson is 2024 Cohort of Program. These chairs are supported over six years by his $13.8 million investment from the Government of Canada through CIHR and PHAC.
Dr. Grayson is a leading public health communications expert. The title of their chair is “Building reliable population health information systems and interventions” aims to build reliable public health information systems and interventions to reduce the risk of misinformation and address barriers to vaccination by filling knowledge gaps about effective health communication interventions. Dr. Grayson is also a researcher at the Center for Vaccine Evaluation at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, where she applies qualitative, multiple, and mixed methods to understand health information behavior and evaluate the effectiveness of population health information interventions.
