Tesla has officially launched the new Model 3 Highland Refresh in North America, and it’s now taking orders with delivery expected within a month.
Last summer, Tesla unveiled a new version of the Model 3 codenamed Highland. It featured a refreshed design, new rear seat screens, new ambient lighting, and more.
It was manufactured exclusively at Gigafactory Shanghai and distributed to Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
Tesla did not say when it planned to bring the new version to North America, where it continued to sell versions of the old design.
Today, the automaker finally announced the new Model 3 in North America.
Tesla is calling it the “Upgraded Model 3” and is currently accepting orders for delivery in “January-February.”
As in Europe, Tesla only sells rear-wheel drive and dual-motor versions. Performance version is now obsolete.

The RWD version has the same price and range, but interestingly has a reduced top speed from 140 mph to 125 mph.
Acceleration time remains unchanged.
Based on WLTP range calculations in Europe, the new Model 3 Highland is more efficient and has longer range than the previous version, but this update in the U.S. doesn’t reflect that. , except the dual-motor version has 8 more miles.
Tesla writes about some of the updates within the new Model 3:
“Enjoy an all-new interior featuring a sleek, minimalist style with a premium look and feel. The cabin is quieter than ever thanks to wraparound acoustic glass, and features features like ambient lighting and ventilated seats. Incorporates new features.”
