Details regarding Scott D’Amore’s recent firing from TNA Wrestling have been revealed.
The wrestling world was shocked again yesterday when Anthem announced that former TNA Chairman Scott D’Amore has been fired from his role with the company. Anthem employee Anthony Cicione has been announced as TNA’s new president going forward.
With new updates from Mike Johnson of PWInsiderthe heads of Anthem, Len Asper, and Scott D’Amore reached a crossroads of sorts regarding how TNA Wrestling should be run going forward, and of course Asper won.
At some point in the past few weeks, D’Amore approached Anthem with an offer to purchase TNA Wrestling from Anthem. Mr. D’Amore supported this proposal in a “correspondence with major banking institutions.” Despite this, Anthem turned down D’Amore’s offer.
Johnson said D’Amore was aware of the changes coming to TNA Wrestling within the past week and a half and was not caught off guard by Anthem’s decision. Over the past 24 hours, several members of the roster have expressed their admiration and support for D’Amore on social media.
Stay tuned for more information on WrestleZone as it becomes available.
