The brewery cited difficult economic conditions and consumer tastes shifting away from craft beer as reasons for the closure.

The brewery posted the news on its Instagram account on Saturday, December 2nd.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that Studio Brewing is permanently closing its doors,” the post reads.
After three years in business, Studio Brewing will make its final day on Friday, December 22nd.
“Unfortunately, these difficult times have been too much for our small business to survive, let alone thrive.However, we are confident that we have done all we can. ”
The post cited costly delays, a shift in consumer tastes away from craft beer, and tough economic conditions as reasons for the closure.
“Our dream was to find underserved neighborhoods, set up shop, and start honing our skills, bringing people together and strengthening communities. There are a lot of us out there, so please support your local craft breweries – it’s tough and it means more than you know. ”
The post thanked the brewery’s staff and customers.
“Gotting!” one social media user wrote in a comment on the post. “South Burnaby would be the same without you guys.”
“Heartbreaking,” said another. “I’m so sorry to hear the terrible news. You all brewed some great beer.”
The news comes just months after city council voted to consider ways to encourage craft breweries to open in Burnaby.
Burnaby currently has three breweries within the city. studio brewing (5792 Beresford Street), Daguerard Brewing (114-3191 Thunderbird Cress.) and steam works (3845 Williams Street).
