League of Legends has numerous bugs and errors within the game, and game-breaking bugs and errors are frequently discovered, forcing Riot Games to respond quickly. These bugs are extremely important to fix as they can impact the competitive integrity of the game and the player’s experience.
YouTuber and bugfinder Vandiril has revealed that there is a massive surrender exploit in the game that allows players to abandon (FF) the game seconds after spawning in Summoner’s Rift.
As a result, Riot Games appears to have disabled ranked queues on several servers, including Oceania (OCE) and Singapore (SG).
What is the surrender bug in League of Legends?
According to Vandiril and other players on social media sites like Twitter, the surrender bug or exploit allows players to instantly surrender the game. This means that you do not have a majority vote to end the game, but simply starting a vote effectively ends the game.
What’s even more interesting is that players whose teammates surrender lose LP (League Points), while their opponents gain LP.
Vandilil on Twitter I have written,”Riot has actually shipped the INSTANT SURRENDER ‘feature’ from PBE to live servers. Yes, in the game he can surrender instantly with one vote. This can’t be real… It can’t be…”
He added that this surrender exploit allows players to increase or decrease their LP. Vandiril also said that multiple players confirmed this.
A League of Legends player named Cheasle2 confirmed it on Twitter.16 seconds [for a game] +29 [LP]. Have a nice day in ranked battles,“Add it.”@Vandiril introduced a PBE bug to the live server that allows instant FF with 1 vote.”
The community also revealed that this surrender exploit was prevalent in the Public Beta Environment (PBE) and that Riot Games accidentally pushed it to live servers.
A Twitter user Said,”I don’t think I need to mention that this is literally the company’s flagship game, but did you see this bug reported on PBE a week or so ago? ) is a pathetic display.”
Riot Games appears to have disabled ranked queues to resolve this issue.
For those who don’t know, a surrender in League of Legends is a vote that allows a team to abandon the game. Any player can ask for a surrender vote by simply typing /surrender, /ff, /grant, or /forfeit in chat, or by pressing the “Surrender” button in his menu of options.
Once a surrender vote is initiated, a pop-up menu will appear for 60 seconds allowing other players to select “Yes” or “No”.
In particular, at least 5 out of 5 players, or 70% of the team, must agree to surrender to end the game.
