Pedro Pascal won the SAG Award for Best Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role in HBO’s The Last of Us, but when he took to the stage to give his acceptance speech, he was completely sober. There wasn’t. The actor probably didn’t think he would win the SAG Award after Kieran Culkin of “Succession” won the same category at the Golden Globe and Emmy Awards earlier this year, so he thought he was He admitted that he thought he would get drunk.
“This is wrong for many reasons,” Pascal told the audience. “I’m a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk. I made fun of you, but thank you so much! I’ve been in the union since 1999, so this is an incredible honor.” Guys, I can’t remember your names right now.”
Pascal began to hold back tears as he thanked his family, but quickly ended his drunken acceptance speech by saying, “I’m about to have a panic attack, so I’m quitting.”
Other nominees in the male actor in a drama series category at this year’s SAG Awards include Culkin, Brian Cox (“Succession”), Billy Crudup (“The Morning Show”) and Matthew Macfadyen (“Succession”) )was.
Win or not, Pascal has been producing one viral award show after another this season. At the 2023 Emmy Awards, he memorably joked that his recent shoulder injury was “because Keiran Culkan beat me up.” Pascal attended the event wearing an arm sling.
When Culkin won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama, he sparked a fake feud with Pascal, saying in his acceptance speech: I still remember thinking that I could never go back to this room. But thanks to “Succession” I’ve been here several times. No, Pedro! ”
Pascal said backstage after winning the SAG Awards that he intended to “make up” with Culkin as revenge. “He is the greatest,” Pascal added. The actor also said that he doesn’t remember what he said during his acceptance speech.
Pascal is set to return to The Last of Us in the upcoming second season, which begins production this year. The show will likely return to HBO in 2025.
