Officials from the Ukrainian Military Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Kyiv Post confirmed that Ukraine targeted a drone assembly facility in Yelabuga and an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan, more than 1,200 kilometers from Ukraine.
The official said the attack on the Yelabuga factory was a special operation of the Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and that the attack caused significant damage to the drone production facility.
Russian officials, on the other hand, claimed that Ukrainian forces had failed to achieve their goals and had only injured people.
“Drone attacks were carried out against factories in Yelabga and Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan,” the press office of Rustam Minikhanov, head of the Tatar Republic, wrote on Telegram.
It added that the attack “did not cause any serious damage and had no impact on the factory’s activities.” Unfortunately, there were injuries at Elabuga. ”
The special economic zone near Elabuga includes chemical, mechanical engineering and metal processing plants, one of which is believed to be used to assemble Shahed/Guerin suicide attack drones.
