Barbra Streisand has revealed that she was once “addicted” to gambling on the stock market.
The 81-year-old Funny Girl star revealed in her memoir, My Name Is Barbra, that she made millions of dollars in trades between 1998 and 2000, including investing in Viagra maker Pfizer. Ta. mirror.

“I had to pick a brand by following the news. I read about a new drug for men called Viagra and thought, ‘This is going to be very popular!’ Since it was made by Pfizer, I immediately bought the stock. ”

“One time I picked a stock because it had my initials on it. It was fun. It was like a roller coaster ride of the market, and it was scary and thrilling at the same time.”
She added that being able to do everything from the privacy of your home is a big advantage.
“The main reason I liked it was because it was private. I didn’t have to act or sing. No one was looking at me. I did all my transactions over the phone while still in my nightgown. I was able to do it.”
Streisand made $1.8 million in five months in the stock market, but eventually quit the hobby because it became too stressful.
