The Circle to Search feature is currently available on Galaxy S24 series smartphones and Pixel 8 series smartphones. The good thing is that there is a workaround for the feature that allows users to replicate the same search functionality, minus the option to manually circle or doodle on an Android smartphone.
This guide will give you step-by-step instructions on how to utilize this feature on your smartphone.
What is this feature?Google Assistant uses Google Lens to perform screen searches and can trigger this feature on any app. I tested this feature while browsing Instagram and it worked fine. This feature is “Screen Search” and is available via the Screen Search voice command and the quick girlfriend shortcut when launching Google Assistant with Hey Google or OK Google.
The only limitation and functionality of the Find in Circle feature is the ability to perform a search by circling or doodle something. However, if you tap something on the screen, Google will search for it. It works on any app without any restrictions, just like Circle to Search.
How to get this feature and use it to search everywhereThere’s no rocket science to achieving this functionality. Just set up Google Assistant on your Android phone and you’re good to go.
Once your Google Assistant is properly set up, just start using the app as you normally would. If you want to look up something on your screen, just say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google,” then tap the “Search Screen” option or say “Search Screen.”
