Chinese vendor Honor has welcomed the domestic launch of Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR and the Magic 6 series, a version of its existing foldable smartphone designed in collaboration with luxury car brands.
Honor said the partnership with Porsche Design is part of its efforts to strengthen its position as a premium technology brand. The two announced their collaboration in mid-December 2023.

The Honor Magic V2 RSR features the same 9.9mm thickness (excluding camera bump) as the Magic V2 foldable launched in China in 2023, but weighs 234 grams instead of the original model’s 231 grams. .
The vendor highlighted durability features such as an anti-scratch coating on the display and claimed it was 10x more durable.
It offers the same triple camera setup as the Magic V2, with a 50MP main lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 20MP telephoto unit.
The Magic V2 RSR features a twin-cell power plant offering a total of 5000mAh and runs a combination of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and Honor’s Boost Engine system, which it claims will boost performance.
It goes on sale in China today (January 12), with prices starting at 15,999 yuan ($2,237) for a 16GB RAM and 1TB ROM configuration.

Regarding its latest flagship Magic6 series, Honor highlighted its 6.8-inch curved display and “industry-first” 180MP telephoto camera, saying it can capture detailed images even when shot from a distance.
The lineup consists of Magic6 and Pro versions.
It is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has a power pack that delivers 5600mAH, which is claimed to deliver better performance than “any flagship” currently available.
The price of Honor Magic6 starts from CNY4,399 and the Pro edition starts from CNY5,699.
