EA Sports made its annual Super Bowl predictions after simulating the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Madden NFL 24.
Simulations predicted an incredibly close game, but the Chiefs came out on top with a 30-28 victory. This makes the Chiefs the eighth team in history to win back-to-back Super Bowls, and the ninth in NFL history.
EA Sports also predicted that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would become the third player in history to win back-to-back Super Bowl Most Valuable Player awards.
However, Madden NFL simulations aren’t always accurate, so 49ers fans may not need to worry too much about this prediction. Over the past decade, it’s turned out to be wrong 70% of the time, but it was a perfect prediction in 2015 when the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24.
Last year, I expected the Philadelphia Eagles to beat the Chiefs 31-17, but the game ended up being a 38-35 victory for the Chiefs.
Those who want to test the simulation themselves can do so in Madden NFL 24. It’s especially easy on Xbox now that Game Pass is released on February 8th.
In a 6/10 review of EA’s latest title, IGN said: “New animations and improved AI make Madden NFL 24’s on-field action the best it’s ever been, but everything that happens off the field is a series of outdated modes and lagging menus. It collapses everything around it.”
