Ahead of the Christmas weekend, popular decentralized social media platform Bluesky has rolled out a new update. Bluesky 1.60 update includes some major additions and redesigns. The platform has a new logo, ditching the old blue sky with white clouds and featuring a butterfly. The company said it made the decision to change its logo after seeing users organically using the butterfly emoji to denote the Bluesky handle. At the same time, the platform made the post public (unless the user opted out). This means anyone can view and search your posts without having to log in or have an account. However, the platform remains invite-only.

Blue Sky emerges from its cloud cocoon and transforms into a social butterfly.” It appears in two different colors: a blue butterfly on a white background and a white butterfly on a blue background.
