At Avant Brands, what’s old is new again.
The Kelowna cannabis company has brought back Jeremy Wright as interim chief financial officer. He replaces Miguel Martinez, who resigned to pursue other opportunities. Martinez will remain in his position until March 19th.
Mr. Wright served as Avant’s CFO from September 2017 to August 2019, when the company was known as GTEC Holdings.
“On behalf of our board and management team, I would like to thank outgoing CFO Miguel Martinez for his significant contributions to Avant,” Avant founder and CEO Norton Sinhabong said in a press release. I would like to thank you.”
“Miguel’s experience in agriculture and cannabis has added significant value and insight over the past few quarters. We wish Miguel all the best in his future endeavors.”
Mr. Wright returns to a company he helped grow as he was deeply involved in the company’s original long-term strategy. This includes helping the company raise more than $45 million during his two-year tenure.
“Jeremy is ideally suited to serve as Avant’s founding CFO and help the company achieve its global goals,” said Sinhabong. “Jeremy’s financing expertise and connections in the global capital markets will play a vital role as Avant seeks to establish itself as a leading operator within the ultra-premium cannabis segment.
“We are excited to have Jeremy rejoin the team and look forward to working with him again.”
Avant announced this week that it will be shipping more of its products around the world. In the past eight weeks, we have concluded four export agreements, bringing the total to 11. All of these agreements involve Israel, Australia, and Germany.
“Exports will be the fastest growing sales channel in both 2023 (FY) and 2024 (FY) 2024,” Avant founder and CEO Norton Sinhabong said in a press release. That has been proven.” “With continued growth in the international cannabis market, we are confident that demand for our premium cannabis will continue to be strong.”
Avant is also pursuing an international trademark licensing agreement focused on its flagship BLK MKT brand, which will increase its visibility in international markets.
