Four brands of eggs distributed in Saskatchewan are being recalled because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says.
The brands affected by this recall are Compliments, Harman, Star Egg, and No Name.
According to the Canadian government Recall notice Contaminated eggs may not look or smell rotten, but they can make consumers sick, according to a paper published Saturday.
In a statement, Health Canada warned that young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to “serious and sometimes fatal infections.”
Short-term symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

- No Name Large size white egg
- Star Egg Extra Large and Large Size Eggs

Consumers who are unsure whether they purchased one of these recalled products are encouraged to contact their retailer to find out. Health Canada says people are encouraged to discard these eggs or return them to the place of purchase.
The recall was triggered by test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
