Furious Xbox fans may finally calm down after Xbox great Phil Spencer finally addressed the controversy surrounding third-party rumors. Needless to say, some gamers may have acted in a hurry (was anyone shocked by this? No, I wasn’t).
It all started with a huge leak revealing that Microsoft intends to make Xbox a multiplatform brand. From there, the gaming community fell apart, with upset fans going so far as to sell their Xbox consoles.

Apparently, even the Xbox staff were concerned enough that Phil Spencer called a meeting to clarify the reality of the rumors being spread. Shannon Liao, Head of Games at Inverse, said: report Spencer confirmed that first-party games will be released on other consoles, and that more changes will be announced in the future.
Spencer also reportedly said that, contrary to popular rumors, new Xbox consoles will continue to be manufactured. But little else is known beyond that. Apparently, all the details we’re missing will be revealed when Xbox reveals its future plans at a “business event” scheduled for this week.
Perhaps then you will understand star field is indeed heading to PlayStation, and it’s sure to be divisive among gamers if it turns out to be true (though insiders have told us it won’t actually happen). Much like the prospect of Halo heading to PS5, people are very upset at the idea of consoles being able to share the same, but I’d love to see the console wars end for good.
Until Xbox makes an official announcement, we can see and hear for ourselves, but the gossip continues as gamers try to piece together what the future holds for Xbox as we know it. Sho.
