Passengers on a United Airlines flight from Dallas to Denver were shocked to see the pilot replacing the windows just before takeoff. Kristin Gallant, who calls herself an infant expert, shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing the flight’s pilot repairing the inside of one window and trying to put it back into the slot.
“Instead of a ‘window’ they just let us all hang out here and wait for takeoff!?!?!?,” Gallant wrote while sharing the video on her Instagram Story on Sunday. . In the video, the pilot can be seen holding the window seal and installing it in place.
“I have so many questions. Is this our pilot? Will the pilot need to have his windows replaced? Is this normal?!” she added.

Fortunately, her flight was uneventful and her plane landed safely in Dallas.
“Window didn’t jump out of the plane. It’s eclipse season, folks. Miracles happen,” she wrote after the plane safely arrived at its destination.
After the footage was published online, a United representative said: post“The video shows a plastic ring called a bezel, which is decorative and not necessary for the safe operation of the aircraft.”
At this time, it is not clear what type of plane was involved. However, the incident comes at a time when a series of aviation safety incidents have been making headlines. Just recently, a horrifying video surfaced online showing a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737’s engine being ripped apart during takeoff. As a result, the plane had to make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport 25 minutes after takeoff.
The Federal Aviation Administration said a part of the plane called the engine cowling came loose and struck one of the wing flaps. According to Reuters, US aviation regulators have opened an investigation into the accident.
In January, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 plane made an emergency landing in Portland after a door panel was blown off during flight.
