A major breakthrough in the UFC’s decade-long antitrust case was announced Wednesday when the two sides announced a $335 million settlement.
Details of the settlement will be revealed after the filing is completed in 45 to 60 days, but that didn’t stop many people from commenting on this important development.

This is big. Le v Zuffa (UFC antitrust case) appears to have been put on hold. If I had to guess, I’d say it has something to do with reconciliation. pic.twitter.com/yRJlorQV9r

Both Re v. Zuffa and Johnson v. Zuffa have been settled (damages to Johnson are likely to be close to zero, as most of the class action signatures have been waived) for $335 million. . pic.twitter.com/CknnFrcdJJ

I had always believed that a settlement was likely, but I am surprised that the plaintiff agreed to this amount. This won’t advance the UFC, and it won’t help future fight deals. shame. https://t.co/yIkGfekwpG

This settlement is bad news for PFL and ONE. Without regulatory intervention in the MMA industry, the MMA industry and other companies of international scale would have no chance of competing. That is clearly impossible.
It’s hard to say how long it will last, but the long-term prognosis is grim.

The UFC lawsuit is over! The two lawsuits were settled for $335 million.
I expected it to be a much bigger fight considering there are thousands of fighters involved and the UFC is risking billions in court.
For context: That’s only 27 million more than Ali Emanuel’s 2021 pay, and about 25% of the UFC’s annual revenue. https://t.co/fTt7oOqgQZ

We will wait for a complete agreement before issuing a judgment (no kidding!) on the antitrust settlement. The first thought is that the fighter could have held out better, but $335 million is about the same as the NYT predicted for 2021.It would be very disappointing if there were no structural/regulatory changes. https://t.co/GgvkWncEiT

All post-filing details need to be confirmed before a full judgment can be made, but both sides said in initial statements that they were “satisfied” with the agreement. https://t.co/SbgkeWKxi9

You were right when we talked a long time ago. The case is expected to be settled for about $300 million before going to trial. https://t.co/LVBOzUX5NH

As I was driving to Malibu to take my final exam today, my cell phone started dying. My immediate impression is that $335 million is a higher number for the plaintiff than I expected.
Next, let’s take a look at what, if any, contractual changes were negotiated. This incident was an attempt to expand the options for fighter jets. https://t.co/uSiBuvNn03

Woof woof, woof woof.
This is a few bucks from the side of the couch to TKO.
The same goes for Fox News and Dominion.
The system always wins. Little people always compromise. Because it’s always around $1 and doesn’t affect change. https://t.co/MjnxoLIGv6

A big win for the UFC. I don’t know what the overall goal was for the fighter. At least that’s something, but nothing seems to change going forward. https://t.co/ZmDyxG4K1b
