Paramount Pictures premiered Transformers One, the first animated Transformers movie in 40 years, at CinemaCon on Thursday. Aside from Transformers One’s special animation aesthetic, the biggest takeaway from the Transformers One footage is the tone, which is more youthful, comedic, and family-friendly than some fans might expect. The playfulness and banter of the grown characters felt more like the Ninja Turtles than the serious, tough Optimus Prime we’ve seen so far.
“Transformers One” will be released in theaters on September 13th.
