Designed with women’s health in mind, Movano Health’s latest Evie Ring offers an array of health tracking features in a discreet device that works on any finger. Evie Ring performed well at her CES 2024 and was selected for CNET’s Best of Show collection.
Evi automatically tracks your sleep, heart rate, blood oxygen level, and steps. You can manually add details about your workouts and record energy levels and duration. The method of interpreting the data is aimed at summarizing the results in a more individualized way.
To understand how it works, I put this through the ultimate test by a tech reporter. I wore it while covering CES. Tech shows are huge, so my days were filled with running around multiple conference centers and taking a ridiculous amount of steps. And you’ll have to shake hands, which also means washing your hands a lot. Plus, I flew to Las Vegas from the East Coast, so I had full access to terrible sleep (or lack thereof) in hotel rooms.
Evie’s data and results are intended to apply to the wearer as an individual, so a bad day for me is different than a bad day for you. Track trends over time to help you achieve better health goals. This also means you need to track your period and have the app notify you when you’re feeling unwell. It also helps you see patterns in activity and then makes suggestions.

I set up a demo Evie at the show floor, and pairing with my phone was very fast. I was really impressed at first sight. Looks like real jewelry with nice little arrow design like K. The only way you can tell it’s technology is by the occasional tiny flash of light from the biometric sensor inside the band.
I don’t use Evie enough to get all the data and feedback into the app. Using it during CES was a good test of some of its promised features. The big one is step counting. There’s a lot of walking at CES. Evie certainly didn’t miss a count as she was tracking me with 18,000 steps on the first day of the show. Interestingly, that number was 3,000 more steps than her Apple Watch recorded.
It’s hard to measure the accuracy of the ring here, but it tracks my gait. It’s also really comfortable. I had my size measured before the performance, and there was no problem with wearing it. If you need to switch for any reason, you’ll get the same readings no matter which finger you wear it on.

I always use hand sanitizer and wash my hands because I meet so many people at CES that it’s easy to get sick. Evie endured it without any problems. It’s no different than when I wear other rings, and I didn’t have to fidget with them to dry them. Frankly, we don’t have time for that here, so I’m glad it didn’t matter.
Sleep tracking is interesting. Sleep during this trip was the worst. With the time change, I kept waking up at odd hours and the ring tracked those moments throughout the night. I wear an Apple Watch, but I don’t usually track my sleep with it because I’m in the habit of charging it while I sleep.
The company says Evie’s battery life lasts for several days before needing a charge, so you can just wear it without thinking. I charged it at the start of the show and after 3 days it was at 59%. Charging is fast and easy. Just put it in the case like earphones and it will click into place with magnetic force.

One of my favorite things about using Evie is how unobtrusive it is. I love being able to track my health without having to think about it. There’s no screen to ping it, and it’s only available when you want to see data within the app.
Paired apps let you get a personalized daily summary based on your activity, steps, calories, sleep, and mood. Additionally, Mobano said: press release The ring is equipped with a sensor optimized for measuring vital signs on women’s fingers. Women’s fingers differ in size and blood flow from men’s, which can fluctuate based on hormonal factors.
The ring costs $269 and, unlike Oura, there are no additional membership or service fees. I’ll have to endure a little longer for a full review, but for now Evie has made it through her CES tech journalist gauntlet. Plus, she looks cute too.
Evie is currently available to order in three finishes (silver, gold, and rose gold) and is expected to begin shipping later this month. The mobile app paired with the Ring is currently only compatible with iOS, but the company plans to support Android in the near future.
