NEW YORK (AP) – Sean “Diddy” Combs and singer Cassie announced Friday that they have settled a lawsuit, one day after filing a lawsuit involving allegations of assault and abuse by the powerful music producer.
The settlement was announced in a release sent by attorney Douglas Wigdor, whose full name is Cassandra Ventura, who represents Kathy.
The companies reached a “mutually satisfactory” agreement on Friday night, the release said, but the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Mr. Ventura and Mr. Combs both issued statements.
Cathy said the deal had been agreed “amicably”. She thanked her family, her fans and her lawyer.
Ms Combs also said the incident had been resolved “amicably” and said: “I wish Kathy and her family all the best.”
Mr. Combs’ attorney, Ben Brafman, did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment. He said Thursday that Combs “vehemently denies” the charges.
The complaint alleges that Combs met Combs in 2005, when she was 19 and he was 37, and shortly after signing to the label, Combs began to pursue the singer’s “flamboyant, fast-paced, drug-filled lifestyle.” Style.
Ventura, now 37, said Combs, now 54, began a pattern of abuse as soon as they started dating.
The suit alleges Combs was “prone to uncontrollable rages” and assaulted her “brutally” by punching, kicking and stomping her. Her suspect allegedly drugged her and forced her to have sex with other men, during which he masturbated and filmed her.
According to the complaint, Kathy was trying to end their relationship in 2018 when Combs forced her into his Los Angeles home and raped her.
