Samoa Joe talks about the incident between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In.
CM Punk and Jack Perry got into an argument at AEW All In, which ultimately led to Punk leaving the company. Previous reports on the incident state that Samoa Joe was present and that he played a role in solving the incident. DJ Who Kid recently recalled the confrontation, saying he was “right there.”
Talking with Mark Raimondi ESPNDJ Foo Kid’s comments about the incident came up during the conversation, and Samoa Joe was asked about the situation.
“There was a little incident. We broke it up,” Samoa Joe said. “We went out there and wrestled. That’s the point. Everybody wants it to be more than what it is, and that’s what it was. And we got our hands on the scorecards and stuff. There’s no point in talking about it any further unless you’re trying to get into it – but believe me, it wasn’t that type of fight.”
Samoa Joe: It wasn’t a big deal to me, something happens
Raimondi asked if it was a big deal, and Joe said it wasn’t, at least from his point of view. He said he had seen similar situations before.
“Not to me. I’ve seen fights break out,” Samoa Joe said. “Stuff happens. But again, it’s me. I’ve been in that situation too, and I’ve seen it. I don’t think people are like, ‘Oh, Joe did this cool.’ I think it’s interesting to feel like, “I’m doing it.” I mean, gosh, it was a very stressful situation.
“Of course. But that’s what I’ve seen happen so many times. We smashed it, we had to put on a show. We had [81,035] Fans are waiting there. That was my focus. Because that was what it was about at that moment. We’re about to go out and have the best night of our lives. ”
Samoa Joe: My intention was to put the show on the air.
Raimondi responded by pointing out that others have pointed to Samoa Joe as the voice of reason in this case. Joe explained that he had work to do, and everyone focused.
“Hey, listen, we all knew we needed to do something,” he said. “We had a mission in front of us and everyone was just focused. And if I was a part of that, that would be great. But my intention was to go out and take this show to the street. It was to be held at
