House Republicans won’t necessarily be in the news this week. Shouting insults at members of Congress. matt gates expelled Rep. Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) as Speaker of the House (R-FL) and seven other colleagues. But to do it in an incredibly sarcastic letter on official Congressional letterhead?
That’s exactly what the legislators think. tom mcclintock (R-Calif.) on Saturday. In a scathing public letter to Gates and the other seven people who ousted McCarthy, McClintock vented his outrage.
“Dear wayward colleague,” the letter began sarcastically. “The letter of October 20th, in which he graciously offered to be as martyred as he could, is perhaps the most selfless act in American history.”
McClintock was referring to the proposal of Gaetz and the other McCarthy rebels (except for the Congressman). Ken Buck A representative from Colorado, who was mistakenly included, offered to accept a personal reprimand in exchange for Congressman Jim Jordan’s election as Speaker of the House.
“We really don’t deserve you,” the lawmaker added.
Every paragraph is filled with mocking shots at the far-right members of Congress who have taken control of the chaos that has engulfed the Republican House caucus over the past few weeks.
“Your sacrifices were not in vain,” McClintock said. “You have succeeded in replacing the outdated concept of majority rule with an exciting new standard in which the Speaker must be elected by 98.2 percent of the Republican conference. Someday we will save the day. will appear,” he said. Born among us who can achieve this miraculous standard, on that day your judgment will be justified and you will be hailed as a genius. ”
