The British royal family has clashed with Canada’s restaurant and music royal family.
This week, the British royal family and Canadian restaurant (and music!) royalty collided in the most delicious way possible. Visitors Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dined at one of Vancouver’s legendary restaurants during their visit to the city.
“It was such an honor to have Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan dine together at Viz’s last night,” she shared. Vij’s Restaurant on Instagram he captioned a photo of chef and owner Vikram Vij with his royal guests on Friday (February 16).
Recommended by the Michelin Guide, Vij’s has been operating in an impressive space at 3106 Camby Street for nearly a decade and is one of the city’s most beloved and long-running modern Indian restaurants.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Viziz. Vij has long been considered one of Canada’s most iconic chefs.
However, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan did not dine alone. The royal family was joined by Burnaby native Michael BublĂ© and his wife Luisana Lopilato, members of Canada’s music royalty. Among the dishes on the table were his Vij signature rum popsicles, one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.
The high-profile royal couple are in Vancouver to meet Invictus Games players at a local curling rink, a year before the tournament.
The pair spent the past two days at the Invictus Games training camp in Whistler. On Thursday, Harry took on a skeleton challenge at the Whistler Sliding Center and then spent some time chatting with some of the athletes who will be competing in next year’s Olympics.
The day before Valentine’s Day, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan of Sussex were spotted meeting up with several athletes on the slopes and in the mountains.
Harry founded the event about 10 years ago to benefit wounded, wounded and sick service members and veterans.
