A man reportedly locked himself in the toilet of a plane and had to wait for landing to escape.
According to multiple reports, the incident took place on Tuesday (January 16) on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru, India.
The plane took off from Mumbai around 2am, and the passenger, a 37-year-old software engineer, reportedly went to the toilet shortly after takeoff.
The door broke and a man yelled for help. Crew members were unable to open the door.
One flight attendant reportedly slipped a note under the door telling the man to sit and close the toilet lid upon landing.
“Sir, we tried our best to open the door…don’t panic. We’ll be landing in a few minutes, so please close the toilet lid and sit on it to stay safe. “An engineer will arrive as soon as the front door opens,” the memo said.
Luckily, the flight wasn’t long and we landed at 3:42am on Tuesday. After landing in Bangalore, the engineers boarded the plane and opened the toilet door.
The man was injured but there was no help.
“I was traumatized, dazed and injured when I was thrown inside the toilet. There was no medical assistance at all when the plane landed in Bengaluru,” he told the Times of India. told.
However, the BBC reports that the man did receive help.
“Throughout the journey, the crew provided assistance and guidance to the passengers. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the toilet door and the passengers received immediate medical assistance,” a SpiceJet spokesperson told the BBC. Told.
SpiceJet reportedly offered him a voucher worth $60.
However, he reportedly refused to accept the voucher and plans to sue the airline.
