Ryanair has confirmed that a Boeing 737 from Liverpool John Lennon Airport was forced to divert to Bordeaux after “a passenger engaged in sabotage on board”.
A spokesperson said: “The crew requested police assistance in advance and upon arrival local police met and removed the passengers.”
The plane took off from Liverpool at 12:40pm on Tuesday, October 3, and was heading to Ibiza, but was forced to land early after passengers caused “sabotage”.
Just over an hour into the flight, the plane diverted to Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport, landing at 3:29 p.m. local time.
Ryanair confirmed that police met the plane on the tarmac and escorted the “disruptive” passenger off the plane.
