The long-time original location of the international lounge, located just after the international security checkpoint, is now permanently closed.
For the time being, customers will be using temporary lounge spaces in a restricted area in the atrium area of the newly constructed Pier D wing of the terminal building.
This is because YVR is getting a new Plaza Premium Lounge in its international terminal.
Sangeeta Chowdhury, director of North American marketing for Plaza Premium Lounge, told Daily Hive Urbanized that the company is currently building a new, larger lounge with new services and amenities. .
The new space is expected to open early in the second quarter of 2024, she says, although few details are available at this time.
The Vancouver Airport Authority also indicated that a new permanent lounge will be located next to Gate D68 on Level 4. This location is just in front of Pier D Atrium.
This means that access to the future new permanent lounge will be from Level 3, where the general waiting area and seating area for all passengers and the restaurant/retail space will be located.

YVR’s other new lounges are also located on Level 4. This includes Cathay Pacific’s first and business class lounges and the SkyTeam lounge in the international terminal.
