Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty’s criminal past is back in the news after new sex offender registration photos have been leaked online.
This photo has been widely shared online and recently appeared in California. Megan’s Law Website.
Megan’s Law is a federal law that requires authorities to release information about registered sex offenders to the public.
The website includes Petty’s status as a sex offender, along with his date of birth, profile description, and the reason for his conviction: “attempted rape by force or fear.”
Petty’s sex offender designation stems from his 1995 conviction for attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl, for which he spent four years in prison.
He was then sentenced to three years of probation and one year of home detention in 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender in California, and moved to California in 2019 before marrying Nikki.

Megan Thee Stallion sparked a bitter feud earlier this year when she threw shade at Nicki Minaj by rapping about Megan’s Law on “His.”
“These guys aren’t mad at Megan, these guys are mad at Megan’s Law/I don’t really know what the problem is, but they sure don’t want me to start.” she spat.
The law is named after Megan Kanka, a New Jersey girl who was raped and murdered by a sex offender in 1994. At the time, there was no legal obligation to identify yourself in your neighborhood.
Megan was just seven years old when her neighbor Jesse Timmendequas lured her into his home and brutally abused her. He was previously convicted of child sexual abuse.
Her father, Richard Kanka, slammed Megan Thee Stallion for using his daughter’s name in reference to her relationship with Nicki Minaj.
according to TMZRichard had crossed the line and was “furious,” but the fact that Megan brought the law to his attention didn’t change his displeasure.
Richard said the use of his daughter’s name in “His” was “extremely offensive” to both her memory and the family’s pain.
Although the father had not heard the song at the time, one of his children told him about it, and when he read the lyrics, he was not impressed.
Although he was considering taking legal action against Megan, TMZ I guessed it would be an uphill battle, given the freedom artists have when referencing cultural and historical events in their music.
