Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president and chief organizer Maryam Nawaz’s son Junaid Safdar on Thursday confirmed that he has divorced his wife after more than two years of marriage.
“The news about my divorce is true,” Safdar said on his Instagram Story.
The couple married in August 2021, with ceremonies held in London and Pakistan, as PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was in exile in the British capital.
The couple stayed away from the media spotlight during their time together.
“This is a completely private matter and we ask the media to respect our privacy,” the veteran politician’s son said in the article.
“I hope that with this decision we find peace in Sha’Allah. We will not speak further on this matter.”
“I wish her all the best,” Junaid added.
Immediately after this announcement, Junaid deleted all photos of him and his ex-wife on Instagram.
