The Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to return to the playoffs for the eighth straight season and improve on last year’s second-round exit.
Playoff tickets went on sale to Leafs season ticket members earlier today, and some were shocked by the prices.
Some members with advance access posted on social media showing that the best tickets cost thousands of dollars each.
I’m definitely a hardcore Leafs fan, I’ll bleed forever but I’m not an idiot lol @MapleLeafs Oh my god, these playoff ticket prices are outrageous π€ͺ pic.twitter.com/LLyNKa827X

Even the much cheaper tickets cost hundreds of dollars each. This included users who had less than ideal viewing experiences.
The cheapest one I saw was $350, but I think it obstructed the view

When I was using Ticketmaster, I was hoping to get two tickets, but when I saw the price for one ticket in Section 319…oh, thank you…no. Go Leafs Go. pic.twitter.com/4EpGHQjOS2

Fans were not satisfied with the exorbitant prices, with many saying it would be cheaper to travel and see the team in another city. The Leafs could find a first-round opponent as early as this weekend.
It’s cheaper to see things while you’re on the go, and that includes travel.

I tried to get a ticket this morning and of course ticketmaster sucks and couldn’t get me a ticket even after proving I was a human. I’ll be staying up north and cheering on the team from my couch.

This is why you don’t have the same fans at home as you do on the go. Ticket prices are ridiculous.

This should be illegal.

This is a crime. No wonder it’s always dying in the barn, but true fans can’t afford it.

That’s amazing. Crazy π§

Are they guaranteed a win??!? Shit.

Even a small loan of around 1 million yen is affordable.
β Alex A. (@AlexAgnew1) April 9, 2024
One playoff ticket or 12 concert tickets?
β Andrew Smyk (@andrewsmyk) April 9, 2024
What does that price come with? LOL Is this an all-inclusive resort trip? lol! ! ! Oh, I forgot, we all won the lottery π
β Karen Dobster (@KarenDobster27) April 9, 2024
They know it only lasts one round so they have to collect the money while they can lol
β IceTime Podcastπ¨ (@IceTime9899) April 9, 2024
That’s the same price as a week’s stay at a pretty nice all-inclusive resort.
β Anthony Bradley (@ACBradley94) April 9, 2024
They correspond to the corporate world, not the family. It’s a bit ridiculous that I can’t take my kids to games just because it costs money. π€‘
β N. Wilde (@nickwildeone) April 9, 2024
I’m not surprised about this, as regular fans have been priced out of regular season games for years. Watch from the comfort of your couch, eat and drink at affordable prices.
β Sparks (@Dave_Sparx) April 9, 2024
These are not for fans but for corporate sponsors who can ignore the matches
β Apathy Duck (@apathyduck07) April 9, 2024
crazy . No wonder season tickets are no longer available. The average fan saw price increases a long time ago.
β 22vap22 (@22vap221) April 9, 2024
I’m not entirely sure how you’re going to pack a lifelong blue-collar fan into a barn for a price like that. Especially during these difficult times in Canada.
It’s almost embarrassing…
β Sammy Flow (@Moosekokan) April 9, 2024
And this is a pre-sale from Scotiabank Arena. I usually see these prices from scalpers looking to resell tickets for a profit. I always heard that it was cheaper to buy directly from the advance sale, but I almost paid 1200 yen for the nosebleed sheet π

You decide whether to rent or play off tickets

Maple Leafs playoff tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET. After season ticket members earn their first pick, we’ll see how many remain.
