New Delhi:
Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia arrived home from Tihar Jail on Saturday to meet his ailing wife with permission from a city court.
Manish Sisodia, who is jailed on charges of liquor fraud, was allowed to see his wife for six hours from 10am to 4pm.
Manish Sisodia arrived at his home on Mathura Road around 10am in a prison van, accompanied by police personnel.
In June, the Delhi High Court granted him permission to visit his wife Seema, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. However, she was unable to visit him because her condition suddenly deteriorated and she was hospitalized.
The court ordered Mr. Sisodia to talk to the media and indulge in political activities while allowing him to meet his wife.
Sisodia, a senior AAP leader, had held various positions in the Arvind Kejriwal government, including the excise department, and the post of deputy chief minister, before his arrest by the CBI in February.
Although he resigned as deputy prime minister and ministers after his arrest, his family continued to live in his then official residence on Mathura Road, which he shared with Education Minister Atishi.
Recently, Manish Sisodia’s bail application in this case was rejected by the Supreme Court.
