Elias Lindholm was traded by the Calgary Flames to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko.
Calgary also acquired a first-round pick and a conditional fourth-round pick from Vancouver in the 2024 NHL Draft, as well as defenseman prospects Hunter Buzstevic and Joni Jurmo.
Lindholm has played in 49 games with the Flames this season and has 32 points (9 goals, 23 assists), playing his sixth game with Calgary. He will join forward Brock Boeser and six players in the 2024 Honda (USA)/Rogers (Canada) NHL All-Star Game in Toronto on Saturday (3 p.m. ET, ABC, ESPN+, SN, CBC, TVAS). He becomes the second Vancouver player to do so. JT Miller and Elias Pettersson, defenseman Quinn Hughes and goaltender Thatcher Demko. This will be Lindholm’s first All-Star Game.
The 29-year-old center scored 545 points (212 goals, 333 assists) in 792 regular-season games with the Flames and Carolina Hurricanes, and 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists) in 27 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. ) are recorded.
Lindholm will become an unrestricted free agent after this season and was selected by the Hurricanes with the fifth pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
“Obviously, I’ve been communicating with the team all year long, but I probably talked to Patrick after Saturday morning and they made me an offer,” Calgary general manager Craig Conroy told NHL.com. he said.
