First impression
I love testing viral makeup products, so this was a must-try for me right away. When I opened the foundation and tried it on, I noticed that the consistency of the product was quite liquid-like, but it was still quite pigmented.
Below, I applied some of the product to my face and was impressed with how much coverage I got in one swipe.
This foundation comes in 30 colors. I used shade 2W1- Macadamia. It is described as a bright color with warm undertones. However, next time I might choose a shade with a cooler undertone. I found this to be a little too yellow for me.
When I applied the foundation all over my face, I liked how it looked like bare skin under natural light. It doesn’t even feel like cake.
I was really happy to see how seamlessly the product blended into my skin and the foundation took on a more natural look once applied. With just a few pumps, I feel the coverage helps to even out my skin tone and cover up any imperfections. It’s also extremely comfortable and moisturizing, which confirms the promise of a foundation.
I decided to see how this foundation stacks up over other makeup. And I was happy to find that it looks great combined with my full routine. For a fully finished look, I also Laura Mercier Real Flawless Waitress Perfecting Serum Concealerwas applied in shade 0N1 under the eyes and high points of the face for a brighter, more lifted look. I really like the moisturizing feel of this concealer. Plus, they’re long-lasting, have a natural foundation-like finish, and provide great coverage, so they work well together.
Next, my mom tried the shade 2N1- Cashew, which is described as neutral and bright.
My mother also feels that cooler, brighter colors would have been a better fit for her.
My mother was pleasantly surprised to see the coverage offered for so little product. She usually doesn’t find wearing foundation every day appealing because it feels greasy on her mature skin or accentuates fine lines. However, she praised the product’s moisturizing formula and how it evened out her skin tone after application.
After completing the entire routine, she noticed that the foundation blended very well under other makeup products and gave her skin a youthful, hydrated glow. Fine lines and wrinkles are not emphasized and the result is a gorgeous finish.
She also decided to compliment her look Laura Mercier Real Flawless Waitress Perfecting Serum Concealershe dotted the shade 1C1 under her eyes to hide dark circles.

final verdict
as a whole, Laura Mercier Real Flawless Waitress Perfecting Waterproof Foundation It’s a win-win for my mom and me.
You can see why this foundation has become so popular. Because a little bit definitely makes a big difference. We both agree that this fits perfectly on top of your go-to skincare or primer, and pairs well with the rest of your respective makeup routines. Gives a comfortable feel to the skin and evens out skin tone. From the way it looks and feels on my skin after my one-day wear test, I feel like this product really lives up to its long-wearing claim. Additionally, we did not find any issues with the transfer.

My mom’s overall experience using this foundation was very positive. She is obsessed with how hydrated it is on her own mature skin, and she confirmed that this foundation feels lightweight when applied. This is her new daily essential.
I usually prefer using tinted moisturizers and skin tints during the winter months. Because it is more moisturizing for my normally dry skin. However, although it looks dewy at first glance, after wearing this foundation for 12 hours and going out, my skin felt a little dry throughout the day. That being said, the color did not fade. This supports the claim that this is an anti-fade formula.
In the end, following our initial experience, we were both able to make each shade work. But next time, I would choose to use a lighter shade with a cooler undertone, preferably one that matches my skin tone better. It’s great that this brand’s shade lineup comes in a variety of colors (from pretty deep to dark) and undertones (i.e. cool, neutral, warm) to choose from.
At $71, this is a foundation that lives up to the hype and is worth the splurge, especially if you have mature skin. It’s fade-proof, buildable, has non-cakey coverage, and has the approval of both my mom and me.
