“Jamie Dimon doesn’t endorse anyone. He doesn’t endorse candidates,” Dimon spokesman Joe Evangelisti told CNBC by phone.
Trump posted a false screenshot on Truth Social saying, “New: JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon endorses Trump for President.”
The claim appears to have originated from X’s verified account early Friday. The story was quickly amplified on social media by other pro-Trump accounts, and by the former president himself, before Banks issued a denial.
When NBC News asked President Trump about the post late Friday, he said he was unaware of the post and that he did not post it.
“Someone posted it for me.” President Trump saidhe added, “I don’t know.”
The post was published at 1:56 p.m. ET and was still visible on President Trump’s official account more than two hours later.
The Trump campaign did not respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
