Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson will be held this summer.
Paul and Tyson are scheduled to headline a boxing event on July 20th at AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas. Match details, along with the rest of the card, will be announced at a later date following a release from Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
Paul reacted to the announcement on Twitter And in front of a large crowd, he vowed to stop the 57-year-old.
“The biggest game of the 21st century, live from the largest NFL stadium in the United States, on the world’s largest streaming platform…that’s the MVP way,” Paul said. “Whether we’re on Netflix or showing in person. [you’re on] Whether you’re a fan of Team Paul or Team Tyson, a lifelong boxing fan, or watching your first fight, you won’t want to miss this event.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring this amazing fight to all of my Netflix subscribers this Saturday, July 20th, alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson. My goal is to become world champion. And now I have a chance to prove myself against the world’s greatest heavyweight champion, the baddest man on the planet, and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to bed. ”
Tyson also confirmed the fight on his social media, but his comments about the fight were short and sweet.
Paul will return to the Lone Star State for the second consecutive summer. In August of this year, he defeated Nate Diaz by unanimous decision in Dallas and has since won first-round knockouts of Andre August and Ryan Borland.
Tyson will be returning to action for the first time since his exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020. “Iron” competed professionally for 20 years, amassing a professional record of 50 wins, 6 losses (44 KOs, 2 NCs), and was previously the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
