Indigo apologizes
India’s largest airline IndiGo has apologized to eight passengers traveling from Amritsar to Chennai via Bengaluru. These travelers had booked IndiGo flight 6E478 (flight details below) which was scheduled to take them from Amritsar to Chennai via Bangalore. However, he missed his connecting flight in Bangalore and had to spend the night in the city. Although the passengers have separate accounts, IndiGo released the following statement:
“Due to delays in the incoming aircraft from Amritsar, these passengers were unable to board the next flight to Chennai at the Bangalore airport. IndiGo ground staff tried their best to allow the passengers to connect, but due to time constraints, Because I didn’t have one, I couldn’t board the aircraft.”

The airline said it deeply apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and offered them the option of staying overnight and booking the next available flight. It added that some passengers chose to stay in airport lounges instead.
What did the passengers say?
Initial reports on the issue featured passengers’ accounts of what happened, saying they were told to de-board the aircraft in Bengaluru as IndiGo did not want to continue to Chennai with several passengers on board. He said he was asked to do so.
According to the Times of India (reports listed 6 passengers instead of 8), the travelers were asked to leave the plane and were put on another flight to Bengaluru. He said he was told that his boarding pass for the flight was ready. . However, once we entered the terminal, we found out that we could only travel to Bangalore the next day.

IndiGo flight 6E478 is a multi-stop service starting from Srinagar with two stops at Amritsar and Bengaluru and ending at Chennai. The airline operates this service on Airbus A320s and uses the same aircraft for all three legs of the journey on most days.
However, on some days there are aircraft changes between Chennai and Bengaluru, and that’s exactly what happened on November 19, according to Flightradar24. According to a flight tracking app, flights were operating on Srinagar-Amritsar and Amritsar-Bengaluru routes.
