CBC will celebrate Canada Day with two CBC News specials, a radio special paying tribute to Canadian music giants and an evening of programming that will unite music fans across the country.

CBC News will air two special programs hosted by Heather Hiscox on Canada Day.
CBC News Special: Newfoundland and Labrador’s Unknown Soldier It starts at 7:30 a.m. ET in St. John’s, Newfoundland. More than 100 years later, an unidentified soldier who died in World War I will be buried at the Newfoundland National War Memorial on the province’s Remembrance Day.
after that, CBC News Special: Canada Day 2024! Celebrations will be held in Ottawa to mark Canada’s 157th birthday. The special will begin at 11:30 a.m. ET.
after that, Canada Day: Feel the Rhythm Beginning at 8pm ET, the two-hour concert, broadcast live from Ottawa, will be hosted by Isabelle Racicot and feature performances from Chromeo, Corneille, FouKi, Kanen, Kiesza, Maestro Fresh Wes, Metric, Neon Dreams, Qattuu, Sara Dufour and Willows.

CBC and Massey Hall, in partnership with the Gordon Lightfoot Foundation, will broadcast a special tribute to the legendary Canadian singer-songwriter.
The tribute to Gordon Lightfoot will be broadcast nationally on CBC Radio One and CBC Listen at 12pm ET and 4pm ET.
Recorded live at Toronto’s Massey Hall in May, the special will feature Blue Rodeo and the Gordon Lightfoot Band as house bands and a host of Canadian artists, including Allison Russell, Isanaby, Burton Cummings, Caroline Wilds, Bob Doidge, City and Colour, Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, The Good Brothers, Julian Taylor, Kathleen Edwards, Meredith Moon, Murray McLachlan, Serena Ryder, Sylvia Tyson, Tom Cochrane, Tom Wilson and William Prince.
