Google announced the news earlier this year that it would be removing abandoned Gmail and starting in December, but that deadline is just weeks away.

Google defines inactive accounts Items that have not been used within 2 years. The tech giant is considering actions such as sign-in. Read and send email. Use Google Drive. Watch YouTube videos. Share photos. Download the app. Search while signed in to become an activity.
Google considers your Google account inactive if you haven’t signed in or done any activity with it for two years. This policy applies only to personal accounts and does not apply to accounts associated with employers, schools, or other organizations.
Starting December 1st, Google may delete all content and data in your account if it is deemed inactive. As Forbes pointed out, this includes many things. Information stored by Google, Google Photos, Google Calendar Events, Google Docs, Email, and more. In advance, Google will send a notification to that account and a recovery email if there is one.
“Google products reserve the right to delete your data if your account has been inactive within that product for two years,” Google said in a statement. Inactive Google Account Policy. “The earliest his Google account will be deleted under this policy will be December 1, 2023.”
There are some exceptions to this, such as if your account was used to purchase something on the Google Play Store or if you have a gift card with an active balance on your account.
So if you have a Gmail account that you haven’t used in a while and you don’t want Google to delete everything associated with it, be sure to log in before December 1st.
