Central Mountain Air flight B.C.’s largest airport connects travelers to cities across the province, but not all tickets are created equal.
The airline, based in western British Columbia, offers some affordable options for local flights, but can be much more expensive than other airlines on other routes .
Travel between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Campbell River Airport (YBL) with this small airline, with round-trip fares starting at just over $270, including taxes and fees. Pacific Coastal Airlines’ fares are slightly higher, at just under $300.
Air Canada offers the next best option, increasing round-trip fares by just over $350.

On routes between YVR and Williams Lake Regional Airport (YWL), Pacific Coastal Airlines offers lower prices, round-trip flights starting under $350. CMA prices are typically about $100 more.
Travelers from YVR to Quesnel Airport (YQZ) can only travel by Central Mountain. Round-trip fares start at just over $450 and the flight operates every day except Sunday.
Compare Central Mountain Air flights with other competitors
Travelers from YVR also have twice-weekly flights to Fort Nelson’s Northern Rockies Regional Airport (YYE) on Sundays and Wednesdays. However, this route is very expensive, with tickets costing more than $950 round-trip in the fall and early winter. However, these extremely high prices are comparable to those offered by other airlines.
Central Mountain may not be the ideal choice for flights between YVR and Kelowna International Airport (YLW), as it can cost upwards of $300 round trip. In contrast, round-trip tickets on Flair Airlines start at just $48. Other airlines also offer better deals.
CMA isn’t as cheap as Air Canada or WestJet on the Prince George or Telus routes, but it provides an alternative for travelers who don’t want to book on a major airline.
Central Mountain also flies to Edmonton, but prices tend to be significantly higher than other airlines.
