Euphoria star Jacob Elordi says he turned down an audition for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy because it was “too dark.”
In a recent cover story, GQ Magazine UK, the 26-year-old Australian actor was reluctant to star in a superhero movie despite growing up admiring Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, who starred in Christopher Nolan’s 2008 masterpiece The Dark Knight. said he was not very interested. When he got the call to audition for the role of Superman, he said, he immediately turned it down.
“Well, they asked me to read ‘Superman,'” Elordi said. “It was immediately said, ‘No, thank you.’ That’s too much. That’s too dark for me.”
