Jackpot exceeds $210,000

The BC Wildlife Federation Conservation Lottery’s 50/50 jackpot is now over the $200,000 mark.
The nonprofit organization announced Wednesday morning that the total has reached $210,000 and is still growing. The winner gets half of the final number.
Other top prizes include a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pro 4WD pickup truck and a 2024 Yamaha Kodiak 450 ATV.
Funds from the Lottery will support habitat restoration, independent wildlife research, and environmental leadership programs for youth across the state.
List of Thompson Okanagan projects supported by Lottery proceeds:
- Peachland Wild Kids Nature Experience Camp
- Beaver dam analog installation and beaver relocation near Merritt
- Kelowna and Kamloops Wetland Assessment
- Outdoor skills training for women in Lake Country
- Haywire Ranch, Wetland Labor Site Monitoring
- Independent Scientific Research: Southern Interior Mule Deer Project, Southern BC Cougar Project, Interior Fraser Steelhead
- Wetland restoration and monitoring at Strawberry Hill and Stud Meadow
- Gardom Lake Invasive Disease Treatment and Monitoring
- Restoration of spawning channels by Bonaparte indigenous peoples
“Our mission is to protect and improve the environment for current and future generations, guided by our core values of stewardship, transparency, and science-based solutions.Education, Partnerships , join us in protecting British Columbia’s natural beauty through responsible outdoor activities,” the group said.
