Apple on Wednesday released iOS 17.0.3, which includes a fix for an issue that caused Apple’s latest iPhone 15 models to overheat.
“This update provides important bug fixes and security updates, and addresses an issue that could cause iPhone to operate at higher than expected temperatures,” according to the software’s changelog.
Over the weekend, Apple confirmed reports on social media that new iPhones tend to run hotter. Apple said the issue is a combination of some apps not being configured properly, an iOS bug, and expected setup times that require additional processing and heat generation.
Wednesday’s update addresses issues with iOS, the iPhone’s operating system. App developers are also pushing updates with app fixes.
Apple said the heat issue is unrelated to the new titanium and aluminum frame design of its top Pro models, or the USB-C charging port on its new phones.
Apple’s website says: Every iPhone can feel warmer when restoring from a backup, wirelessly charging, using graphics-intensive apps or games, or streaming high-quality video. there is. Apple says the iPhone is safe to use unless explicit temperature warnings appear.
