A woman who lives on a cruise ship has revealed that there are four rules that must be followed while on board that big old ship.
You may have heard stories of people who decided to give up their lives on land and live on the high seas. Because at this point it’s actually cheaper than land.
Christine Kestelo lives on cruise ships because her husband is the chief engineer, and she will be traveling with him, but that won’t be the case this time.
She can live the life of a guest while on board the ship, but also “as a crew member,” so she can do whatever a guest is going to do, while going anywhere a crew member can go. But I explained that I could take myself.
Christine gets to live on the ship for free, eat for free at the ship’s restaurants, and get huge discounts if she wants to buy anything.

Sounds like a pretty easy life, but before you update your Tinder profile and say you’re really looking for a cruise ship employee to bring your partner on board, you might want to hold your proverbial horse. not.
That’s because Christine has rattled off four main rules that must be followed on board.
No gambling allowed
The first rule was a strict “no gambling” policy, she explained, and it didn’t look good to see crew partners racking up big bucks on slot machines.
She said, “As the chief engineer’s wife, it would be considered a little strange if I won a big jackpot. That’s why I’m not allowed to gamble on board.” .
Be sure to wear your badge
Another big rule was that she had to wear a badge whenever she was in the crew section of the ship, so no one would think she was a passenger snooping around the place.
“I’m allowed to be in the crew area and the guest area, but that being said, when I’m in the crew area, I’m ‘one of them’ and I’m not allowed in there.” You must wear your badge visibly at all times so they know they are allowed,” she explained.

Sorry to those who love gambling, hate wearing badges, and dreamed of living on a cruise ship.
Customer comes first
As for rule number three, this wasn’t so much an official thing as Christine’s understanding of the limitations of operating a cruise ship.
We are allowed to do almost anything on board, but we know that the customer has to come first.
She said: “If the pool is full, we always stand up and give guests a seat, which is the right thing to do.
“I used to be a cruise director, so I understand how to give guests the best experience possible.”
She also explained that when passengers disembark at their destination, the flight attendant had to wait for an hour, and although it was technically both, she also had to wait.
Insurance is the key
Fourth, and finally, this sounds more like a life manager, but she needs to make sure she has insurance to travel around the world.
She says, “When you’re on a boat with your husband, you should always have travel insurance and medical insurance in case something happens.
“We live in the Netherlands, so we have Dutch insurance. My husband pushes it on me and we just pay a little extra every month.”
Honestly, it seems pretty easy to accept these rules in exchange for a free cruise.
