Baseball fans in the United States and even across the border found themselves staring at screens and being followed as a private jet flew from Anaheim to Toronto on Friday afternoon, prompting speculation about the passengers.
These locations led some to believe that Shohei Ohtani, the two-way star and MLB’s most coveted free agent, would visit the Toronto Blue Jays.
There have been many conflicting reports, so brace your seatbelts for confusion.
Was it Ohtani or just a guy?
Officials at Toronto Pearson Airport wanted to make sure everyone on board felt welcome, especially Ohtani. Air traffic control records obtained by the Messenger show controllers greeting passengers on the so-called “Otani flight.”
“Whether you’re heading to Toronto or not, we warmly welcome you,” the air traffic controller said. “Welcome here.”
Early afternoon, MLB Network’s John Morosi was reporting Ohtani was on his way to Ontario. X’s official MLB account appears to support this report.
However, other reports soon challenged that idea. USA Today bob nightengale and the new york post John Heyman He was among those who reported that Ohtani was still at his home in California.
In other words, if he’s not an otani, he’s just a guy, right?
Not again.
After the plane landed, CBC’s Devin Aerault reported that CBC cameraman Evan Mitsui confirmed that the passenger was not an otaku or a promiscuous person. Instead, Canadian businessman and Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec and his family participated.
As you can see below, Herjavek was attention-grabbing and fun.
