The store that filled the space left behind when a popular Bed Bath & Beyond store closed appears to be suffering a similar fate, at least that’s how customers see it.
Canadian home improvement brand Rooms and Spaces opened in a large West Broadway retail space over the summer, but the new store appears to have closed after just three months.
When a shopper visited Daily Hive, he noticed a sign with opening hours that said it was closed every day and inquired. According to a shopper who visited the store on two separate occasions, “Both times the door was locked, but… [the] The elevator is locked [the] The escalator wasn’t working. ”
Daily Hive visited the store and confirmed it was closed as of Tuesday afternoon. The reason for the closure is currently unknown, but Daily Hive has reached out to the company for comment.
According to its website, there are currently no stores in Vancouver, and calls to the store went unanswered, although a voice message said it was open.
Rooms and Spaces took over the vacant Vancouver property at 1740 West Broadway on August 19, 2023. The store featured a variety of products, from fancy kitchenware to affordable home decor.
The home goods store was replaced by Bed Bath & Beyond, which filed for bankruptcy in February.
The chain, which has 54 stores across Canada, cited many reasons for its bankruptcy, including the coronavirus and weak online sales.
