Qathen Xwegus Management Corporation (QXMC), owned by the Klahus First Nation, announced the appointment of a new general manager on Oct. 31.
Marco Vedetti is new to this role, but has been with QXMC for many years. Vedetti has a long and successful history with his Gorge Harbor and Marina resorts. From 2017 until 2022 he has served as Guest Service Manager and from June 2022 as Operations Manager and Resort Manager.
“Vedetti’s dedication to transforming Gorge Harbor Marina Resort into a premier destination for boaters, glampers and campers has been incredible. Future exciting developments include the introduction of a new food truck for the 2024 season. ” states the QXMC release.
Bedetti previously worked as an IT specialist and service manager, helping migrate QXMC’s IT systems to new platforms.
His new responsibilities include Gorge Harbor Marina Resort, Klahors Wilderness Resort, Klahose Coastal Adventures, Klahose Sawmill and Klahose Aquaculture. Squirrel Cove Development will continue to report to the Chair, while Craghorse Forestry will continue to report to the Board.
Additionally, Maciej Szarecki, who has taken on a new role as Resort Manager at Krahous Wilderness Resort, joined mid-season as on-site resort manager and has had a positive impact, receiving consistent five-star reviews from guests.
He again held the positions of Lodge Manager at Canadian Mountain Holidays and Front Office Manager at a number of prestigious hotels.
“With the seasonal closure of the resort, Maciej will focus on fostering synergies between the resorts and planning for a great season at Krahous Wilderness Resort in 2024,” the release states.
