Prince Harry has arrived in the UK but will not meet King Charles during his visit to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
A spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said this was his father’s “perfect plan” and that he “hopes to see them soon.”
Prince William will also not be attending Wednesday’s Invictus event.
His last trip to the UK was in February, shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer, when he visited the King.
A spokesperson for Prince Harry said: “Of course, the Duke is aware of his father’s diary of his commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”
King Charles is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Prince Harry is in the UK to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. In the game, wounded military personnel, military personnel, and veterans compete.
A Thanksgiving service will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, with Prince Harry giving a reading and actor Damian Lewis reading a poem.
However, no other senior royals have been confirmed to attend the service so far, with King Charles and Prince William not attending and Duchess Kate also undergoing cancer treatment.
After his visit to London, Prince Harry is scheduled to visit Nigeria with Duchess Meghan.
The couple were invited by Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, who met Prince Harry during the Invictus Games in Germany last year.
Birmingham, UK, and Washington DC, US, have been shortlisted to host Invictus in 2027.
The king began his return to official duties last week after it was revealed he had an unspecified type of cancer and had to avoid crowds and public gatherings.
Although treatment for the cancer is still ongoing, the king’s medical advisers have given permission for him to begin a gradual return to official duties.
It remains unclear how many traditional summer royal events the king will be able to attend.
