Los Angeles –
Britney Spears has denied rumors of a new album and vowed to “never go back to the music industry.”
At the same time, Spears said in an Instagram post Wednesday that she is still writing music for others.
“When I write, I’m either writing for fun or I’m writing for other people!!!” she wrote. “I’ve written over 20 of her songs for other people in the last two years!!! I’m a ghostwriter and honestly I enjoy it!!!”
The Instagram caption slams people who “keep saying they’re relying on random people to make their new album,” and Guido Reni’s painting of Salome holding the head of John the Baptist. It was combined with a photo of
This isn’t the first time Spears has hinted at retiring from releasing her own music. In July 2021, she was under a notorious conservatorship that had controlled her life, money and voice for nearly 14 years, but her longtime manager Larry Rudolph announced that she would be resuming her career. He resigned, stating that he had no intention of doing so. Shortly after being released from her patronage later that year, she stated on Instagram that she was scared for her music business and that not doing her own music was an act of defiance against her family. .
However, the following year, she released the single “Hold Me Closer”, a collaboration with Elton John, which spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at number 6. Her last year’s “Mind Your Business” is a single that contains her will. However, “i.am” received poor reviews and failed to enter the Hot 100. Spears’ last full-length album was 2016’s Glory.
Spears also wrote in Wednesday’s post that it is “far from the truth” that her best-selling 2023 memoir, “The Woman in Me,” was published without her consent.
