Cheers to the weekend, Victoria!
Memorial ceremonies and events will be held across the island to remember those who died in action and honor those currently serving.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, you may pay your respects by participating in a two-minute moment of silence at 11 a.m.
Granted, this weekend’s list also includes Monday, November 13th, as it’s a long weekend due to Memorial Day, which many will treat as a statistical holiday.

Christmas market series
It’s a market you don’t want to miss!
With more than 90 local businesses participating during seven different markets, you’re sure to find something you’ll love, whether it’s a gift or a treat for yourself.

The November 10th market will feature vendors including Beautiful Planet, Bits of Bliss Confectionary, Bussard Grove Pottery, Caitlyn Chapman Studio, Crowfoot Collective, dot.Naturals and more.
Each store is replaced with new vendors, so each visit is fresh and unique.

See the work of BC’s best artists, always creative and always pushing the boundaries. The event will begin on his Friday, November 10th and will run until Sunday, November 12th.
Whether it’s for someone on your holiday shopping list or just for you, we’re sure to have an item that will wow you.

The Sunset Limited by Cormac McCarthy
Victoria’s Attitude Theater welcomes you to a masterpiece based on the works of renowned author Cormac McCarthy. sunset limited, at Paul Phillips Hall in Fernwood.
Viewers and critics alike have found the work provocative, insightful, and incredibly written.
As explained, the story depicts the encounter of two souls torn between faith and atheism. This encounter takes place between two men: Black, an ex-convict who has discovered God, and White, a jaded, unbeliever professor steeped in nihilistic ideology.
In the emotionally charged space of Black’s dilapidated apartment, the two become embroiled in a heartbreaking battle about faith in God and the emptiness of life.

There’s a reason this is popular in the community. Do not miss it!
The Creative Crafts Fair is an annual event held at Piers Rec Center in Victoria, offering a true extravaganza of great arts, crafts and demonstrations.
More than 125 exhibitors will showcase crafts, gourmet food, fine art, photography, clothing, glass art, jewelry, bath and beauty products, woodwork, quality imported goods and more.

In addition, Greek On the Street will provide food and there will be hourly raffle prizes.

Calico Christmas Market
Calico Christmas is excited to invite you to our 36th Annual Christmas Market at Spectrum Community School.
The market will be held over two days, November 11th (Sat) and 12th (Sun).
We’ve selected 100 local vendors to highlight at this year’s event. Shop our wide selection of gourmet foods, bath and body care products, pottery, garden decorations and more.
There will also be several food trucks with hot food and drinks, so you can warm up your stomach while browsing around.
As the event falls on Memorial Day, all activities will cease at 11 a.m. and a two-minute silence will be observed.
Weekend admission is $5 cash and includes an entry into a drawing to win Vancouver Canucks tickets and a hotel package.
Children 12 and under are admitted free.

Step back in time as you listen to popular pop and jazz songs from World War I and World War II.

This Remembrance Day, join us for some toe-tapping, somber tunes to honor and reflect on those lost during wartime.

Reggae dance and food drive
All the dancing and the atmosphere is all for a good cause.
Featured performances include PHONOSONICS with great reggae and fan-favorite sounds, DJ I-LOT with vintage sounds, and DJ JUDAH with modern Caribbean sounds.
Support your community and bring in non-perishable food. All items will be distributed to food banks across Victoria.
Tickets are $10 with non-perishables and $15 without.

Memorial Day Concert
The Capriccio Vocal Ensemble invites you to a Memorial Day celebration that honors our troops through song.
As explained, they offer a musical expression tied to this period of reflection and reminiscence that evokes feelings of gratitude, tranquility, and solidarity.
The concert will be held at Christ Church Cathedral and tickets are $35 for general admission and $15 for student admission. It can be purchased via. event bright.

victoria record fair
Vinyl record lovers, get out your wallets!
The bi-annual Victoria Record Fair is back and ready to take over Fernwood Community Center with more than 30 vendors selling vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and music memorabilia.
The fair will also be a fundraiser for the Victoria Indigenous Friendship Centre.
Admission is by donation, with a suggested amount of $2 to $5.

Herman’s Jazz Club’s Great American Songbook
Join jazz lovers at Herman’s Jazz Club on Sunday. Three of the greatest interpreters of melody, story, and song come together to explore and celebrate the endless possibilities of the Great American Songbook.
This performance features a powerhouse trio featuring the legendary Miss Louise Rose, the superlative Joey Smith, and the outstanding Kelby McNair.
The Great American Songbook Trio presents a special concert dedicated to the great composers of the Jazz Age.

Victoria Royals vs. Kelowna Rockets
Cheer on the Royals at their 11th home game of the season and take advantage of our “Value Week” sale!
Tickets can be purchased for just $10 and you can enjoy $5 lucky beers and $3 hot dogs throughout the game.
Plus, we have a DJ on hand to keep the party going no matter what.
Couldn’t get enough of the Royals during the game? Well, you’re in luck! A 45-minute “Skate with the Players” event will be held after the game as soon as the ice runs out.
The players will probably need to freshen up a bit after the game, so everyone will play at least 30 minutes.
